Under the agreement, Atinco will provide technological infrastructure and its know-how in the cell phone market, while VIPS will design and launch new cell phone products for its customers

Mexico City, September 15, 2006 – Atinco, the leader in cell phone technology and content, and VIPS, the leader in the Mexican restaurants market, have made an agreement under which Atinco will provide VIPS with the necessary technological infrastructure and know-how in Mexico’s cell phone market. VIPS will utilize these resources to design products that utilize the cell phone as a distribution and loyalty channel.

Initially, the project will be run as a pilot scheme that will be launched at the end of this month in a strategic area of the Mexican Republic chosen by VIPS. If results are as expected, the products will be launched throughout the Republic in a roll-out with a very short time-to-market.

VIPS will offer its customers all of Atinco’s personalization products, interactivity, games and entertainment, as well as products specifically designed for its customers.

“This agreement strengthens Atinco’s position in the B2B cell phone market in Mexico and represents a step forward in our strategy of expanding strategic partners in Mexico, says Claudia Cordero, Country Manager for Mexico. “The strategic alliances we have announced today are not only an important advance in Atinco’s strategy but will help consolidate the wide range of products and services in different sectors that can be offered to customers using cell phones as a distribution channel.VIPS is already defined by its innovative business models and pioneering product and service proposals, and this will strengthen its leading position as the first restaurant chain to launch cell phone based products for its customers.”
