PRESS RELEASE

ATINCO TO INAUGURATE A NEW SUBISDIARY IN SOUTH AFRICA

Two years after the opening of subsidiaries in Latin America, Atinco keeps on with its world expansion inaugurating the first subsidiary in a non-Latin American market

Johannesburg, April 10th 2006 – Atinco, lead company in the cellular telephone technology and content industry, has inaugurated a new subsidiary in South Africa.

The opening and running of this subsidiary meant a huge step forward towards the globalization strategy of the company, which for the first time in its history confronts the development in a country with a very different culture from that of their existing subsidiaries.

It is precisely these cultural differences which have induced the company to be launched under the brand name Jetcel, instead of Entretiene, the name under which it operates in Latin American markets. Also, the company had the partnership of all three operating mobile phone companies in the country: Vodacom, MTN and Cell-C, which enables reaching the 100% of the cell phone market in South Africa. Remarkably, the total number of existing terminals in South Africa belongs to the GSM technology, in which Atinco is deeply experienced, allowing a roll-out in a fairly reduced time window.

Thanks to the third-generation challenge carried out by South African operators, and with Atinco’s experience in the field of 3G, great synergies are expected, to allow the company to carry out the implementation of its multimedia platforms much faster, once the selling channels are integrated and the whole operative system is fully in place.

The launch in South Africa is a great challenge for Atinco, due to the cultural issues we had to confront. During the first few days, through a very aggressive advertising campaign, we have reached the massive market, and although it is too soon to elaborate a conclusion, the results are quite above the expected, so we can say we have truly succeeded”, explains Luis Carmelo Gayubo, Financial Vicedirector, responsible for the opening of new subsidiaries. “A very important aspect we detected in South Africa”, adds Gayubo, “is the great potential of the country for the implementation of multimedia platforms. It is a mature market, there is a passion for technology and the operators and willing and able to offer the latest innovations in the cell phone market for their users. Also, it has been easy to manage the copyrighting of contents, and all these aspects together add a highly impressive potential to the experience.

Once the launch has been carried out, and taking into account the initial results, Atinco foresees a strong intensification of investments in the country, to boost advertising campaigns in massive media, as well as the opening of new lines of business.

About Atinco
Atinco was the first mover in the development of the TechnocontentÔ concept, which combines a single technological solution with content, enabling users to enjoy unique multi-media experiences over their cell phones. Atinco was the first to see the potential of bringing together innovative software engineering and a brilliant marketing and production team.

In September 2003 Telefónica Móviles (Movistar) became the first Spanish operator to launch the video streaming service. This was achieved using the Atinco platform with the aid of the engineering team responsible for the integration process. The launch included content from Alejandro Sanz, MotoGP, Big Brother, Operación Triunfo and many more. Atinco has also developed applications like Affinity (matching software using Symbian and Bluetooth) and VoiceMMS (allowing voice messages to be sent at the touch of a button) for clients such as Nokia.

Atinco currently has affiliates in seven countries, where its Entretiene and Jetcel brands have won millions of users.
